About a month ago I was nominated for the ‘One Lovely Blog Award’ by Annabel Hughes who writes the blog Savannabel. My apology is for her – sorry this did not happen faster but I’m still recovering from three weeks of intense Italian.
Now the pleasure – the time to read through the kingdom of blogs and to thank my nominator.
Annabel is based in Zambia and writes a blog about food and the place she lives. This week there will be a special buzz as Annabel is celebrating her birthday. If you want to touch and taste another world her blog is one that should definitely be right at the top of your list. The link above will take you there.
The ‘One Lovely Blog Award’ is given to bloggers by fellow bloggers and was initiated to promote up-and-coming blogs, as well as to highlight those blogs thought lovely by the person nominating them. I know how much this nomination meant to me and I hope it will mean as much to the handful of bloggers I’ve discovered – it’s like panning for gold in a really rich, fast-moving river, and then asking others to help.
This nomination is about paying it forward. Here are the rules:
1. Thank the person who has nominated you; provide a link to his/her blog.
2. List the rules and display the award image.
3. Include seven facts about yourself.
4. Nominate 15 other bloggers (I’ve managed 14 in the time I’ve got) and let them know that they have been nominated.
5. Display the award logo and follow the blogger who nominated you.
Seven facts about myself:
* I grew up in Africa.
* I have always loved writing.
* Until the age of 18 I lived in one house and went to two schools.
* Since then I’ve lived in 15 houses and eight countries.
* I have three sons.
* I love to find out more about the less known.
* I hate cruelty in any form.
My nominees, in no particular order, are:
The Bourgie Traveller – I love the fun in this.
Travelling with Lyn – great blog for information on different parts of Italy.
Ruins and Relics – this is a blog with opinions and an angle that makes you look a little more closely.
Niff as RX – a glimpse of a life of travel at pace
Eastern Highlander – snap shots of a life I remember
Ged Naughton – always has something that makes you think
The Adventure of Being Alive – a blog about life, travel and not wasting either
Bringing worlds together in my kitchen – this blog has wonderful information about Italy and its food
La dolce vita mia – I like this as it feels very personal
In pursuit of adventure – love the sections on Italy and Naples
Unusual economics – this is a great, straight-talking look at some of Zimbabwe’s complications
Raising Lucy Green – there’s a baby on the way – what can be more lovely than that?
Summer sun blue skies – creativity with character
Moveable paintbox – I LOVE their watercolours of dogs – the perfect blog to lift the spirits.
