Hello 2016! Fireworks on the Bay of Naples, Italy

A calendar year done in Naples, Italy – it’s been a privilege to be in a city as old and as loved as this one.

I’ve explored, I’ve photographed, I’ve written and I’ve learned.  I’ve felt safe and I’ve been helped. Thank you to everyone who has given me a hand.  Here are a few who are based in Naples:

Centro Italiano: this school in the old part of Naples teaches Italian to foreigners with extra sessions on culture.

Napoli Unplugged: a website in English about everything Naples, managed by the generous, Napoli-based Bonnie Alberts.

Naples: Life, Death and Miracles: Jeff Matthews, a master of Neapolitan history,  has helped me put the city into context.

The Commonwealth Ladies’ Club – whose friendship and visits have taken me to places I would never have seen otherwise.

Thanks also to the fellow bloggers who have looked in at some point and leant a word: Savannabel; Travelling Italy with Lyn; Italophilia; and Broken Columns.

Finally … a massive thanks, grazie mille, to everyone who gives up precious time to read The Phraser.  Without you this blog wouldn’t exist at all.

The last word, and my thanks, goes to WordPress and The Phraser’s Annual Report!

Happy 2016 – auguri!
