Away from my Desk
I just wanted to let you know that I am going to take a break for a few weeks. You may well not even notice, given that my blogging is so erratic these days, but at least there is a note on the page in case you do decide to look in.
Thanks to everyone who’s been reading and taking the time to comment. It is so good to know that you’re out there. Special thanks also to the brave ‘free writers’ who joined me during the early months of lockdown. I loved the company and the mini-thought posts that came with it. Bizarre how long ago it feels now.
Finally, a big mention to Zim, where the challenges only seem to multiply. It’s extraordinary to watch the fight against corruption and abuse … so determined despite the terrible odds. I’ve felt a sort of agonising grief/hope with each painful step forward, and truly can’t imagine the courage it takes. I’ll keep watching.
Well … that’s it.
Wishing you the best wherever you are, and hope to see you again sometime in September.

The Phraser 
Have a lovely break Georgie. Try not to agonise over Zimbabwe’s woes as there is little you can do – you’ve done so much anyway just exposing the evils. On the ground we are just keeping on keeping on and looking after those around us. Not getting involved in politics in any way, it sadly just is not worth it. I’ll support and like and share what I can but won’t be marching or holding up placards. It’s so very tough and my heart breaks for these people in jail in these terrible times. We hope that justice will prevail somehow. By some miracle. Have a good rest .. much love Franks xxxx

Hi Franks – thanks so much for your response, especially valued as you are there in Zim. I love watching all you’re doing out there … so resilient, creative and caring. I completely understand your point of view about politics – I avoid politics wherever I am, but to me the situation in Zim now feels criminal. It is like watching an abuser in my own home … so frustrating, and so dangerous for those who try to expose what’s happening. I hope that, as you say, justice will prevail. Thanks for reading and for your beautiful blogs – a reminder of all the hope and good in Zimbabwe. So much love to you … Georgie

Hello Georgie from your very bad at keeping in touch 2nd cousin. Despite my lack of participation I will miss The Phraser emails popping in over the next couple of months.
