Well … that was exhausting

London during UEFA Euro 2020

In case you missed it, on Sunday night England lost a game of football to Italy. The match was in Wembley, and the result so tight there was barely room to breathe.

We watched the game on television, and then, gathering our senses for Monday, we drove north, across the M25, and into the centre of London.

We had no idea what to expect. This is what we saw.

I found this post back at the very beginning of The Phraser. It is a brief profile of a wonderful football club I was introduced to shortly after I restarted my writing life.

Update 2019: I hear that this club is still run by Eddie Leroux and Anita Russell on the Roehampton playing fields, and that it continues to thrive.
